Husky Highlights week of August 24th

Message from Principal Soubasis

Good afternoon, Husky Families!

We had another wonderful week at Avalon Middle School! Our students have settled into their daily routines—they are navigating the halls with confidence, arriving to class on time, and enjoying time with friends at lunch. We also successfully completed a few of our required safety drills.

Here are a few important updates and highlights for the upcoming week:
  • Upcoming Testing & Special Bell Schedules: Our first round of testing begins this Tuesday. Please review the testing calendar and adjusted bell schedules below to help your student stay prepared.
  • Staff Celebrations: Please join me in congratulating our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Tiwari, and our Support Person of the Year, Ms. Melendez! We are incredibly proud to have them represent Avalon Middle School this year.

I know our weekly newsletter contains a lot of details, but my goal is to keep you as informed and supported as possible. Please feel free to use the section headlines below to find the specific updates that apply to your family.

Thank you for your continued partnership. Let’s make it another fantastic week—
GOOO HUSKIES!!!

Mr. Soubasis
Principal, Avalon Middle School

Athletics Fundraiser

Help Our Athletes—and Our Entire School—Succeed!
We are raising funds to support the Avalon Middle School Athletic Programs and create a stronger, more connected school community for all AMS students!
Your donations directly support our athletes by helping provide essential equipment, facility/field improvements, athletic training supplies, celebrations/awards, and much more. But the impact goes beyond our athletes. We are investing in the overall student experience at Avalon Middle School—a strong athletic program builds school spirit, teamwork, leadership, school pride, and a stronger sense of community for everyone.
Every donation, big or small, helps us create better opportunities and memorable experiences for our entire Husky family.
Thank you for supporting AMS Athletics and helping make this an amazing HUSKY year! Click below to donate!

Delayed Dismissal

Thank you to everyone for a smooth delayed dismissal. Hopefully that is the last one for the school year! But in case it is not, here are a few reminders to support us keeping it flow smoothly.
  • Bring your ID to check your student out
  • Once you have your student exit back to your vehicle and head out of carline. This will keep carline moving for everyone else.
  • Maybe sometime over the next week double check to see who is on your emergency pickup list. If you need to add someone that your trust to pick up your student you can come to the front office to complete that paperwork.
  • If your student is a walker or bike rider, do they have a poncho to keep them, and their backpack(laptop) dry? If it is only raining we will dismiss them.
  • Bus Loop is not a student pick up zone for cars when we first dismiss students. When we dismiss we have to have it clear for buses to come through.
