Principal’s MessageA photo of Avalon Middle School Principal, Marisol Mendez

Dear Amazing Teachers, Students, and Families of Avalon Middle,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I am thrilled to begin this exciting journey with you as the proud new principal of Avalon Middle School. It has already been a joy meeting many of you, and I look forward to connecting with even more members of our incredible community.

With 34 years of experience in education, I am deeply honored to return to a place that holds a special place in my heart. My journey in this community began in 2001 as an ESOL teacher at Timber Creek High School, and it feels like a full-circle moment to now serve as your principal.

At Avalon Middle, we are committed to continuing our tradition of academic excellence with a well-earned status as an “A” school. We have so many exciting initiatives, programs, and events planned this year—and we believe that strong partnerships with our families are key to our success.

Together, we will empower our Huskies to grow, lead, and thrive. Because here at Avalon, there is truly Power in the Pack—and that power lies in our shared commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow in a transformative educational experience.

Let’s make this year our best one yet!

With gratitude and excitement,

Marisol Mendez
