Welcome Back Huskies!!!

Good afternoon Huskies!

My name is Steven Soubasis and I am the proud new principal of Avalon Middle School! I have been in our community since 2001 when I opened Timber Creek High School as a Geometry teacher. I also proudly coached the girls Softball, Volleyball, and weightlifting teams. I then had the opportunity to open Wedgefield School K-8 in 2016 where I worked as a dean and Assistant Principal. I then shifted back over to this area in 2019 where I served Timber Springs Middle for the past 7 years as an Assistant Principal, and Principal. I look forward to the 26-27 school year and beyond serving our proud Husky community!

This upcoming week we start school on Tuesday, classes begin at 9:30am, and end at 4:04pm. Please be patient the first week or so with car line as I anticipate it being a bit longer than normal the first few weeks.

As you may have heard, students are no longer allowed to bring E-bikes, or Electric Scooters on campus. Students have until September 8th to make other arrangements for how they get to and from school. Please start working on a plan with your student if that was their main mode of transportation to school.

Thank you to everyone who came out on Thursday for Meet the teacher. We had a great time getting to meet our students and families. I have included flyers below if you were unable to attend to help you prepare for this upcoming week. There is our calendar for the first nine weeks, which I will update each week as new things come up. There is information about PE uniforms, yearbook, 8th grade yearbook ads, volunteering, Partners in education, and a link for schedule change requests.

Lastly, I want to thank our PTSO and our Staff for an Amazing first week together! Our PTSO fed our staff to kick off our preplanning week, and we were so grateful! Also, the staff has worked so hard to prepare to welcome your students in on Tuesday, as well as welcoming me as their new principal! I am so proud to be your new principal!

You must have your physical completed, uploaded on Aktivate and cleared with Coach Warren before being allowed to step on the field.
