May 10, 2026

Principal Mendez's Message

Dear Husky Families,
Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you had an awesome time with your families. As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated teachers who inspire, support, and shape our students every day. Your passion and commitment make a lasting difference in our school community. Thank you for being truly PAWSome!
Testing continues:
Thank you for reminding your student to come with their charged laptop, best effort and confidence. They are doing great and we know we will finish Avalon-strong!
Jr. Thespian Celebration: Shout out to Mrs. Williams and our Jr. Thespian team for an outstanding, well-organized event honoring inductee, award recipients, and our graduating 8th graders—your dedication and impact make us so proud!
FFA Banquet: Shout out to Ms. Long, our FFA leaders, and community members for the awesome, inspiring and amazing student leaders for the great celebration. We are so proud of how you consistently grow and represent our school in excellence.
Concert Excellence: Kudos to Ms. Machado and our talented students for a beautiful concert at Timber Creek HS—an evening that truly showcased their hard work, passion, and incredible musical talent!

Evening of Excellence Information

Evening of Excellence is on May 19, 2026 celebrating students’ outstanding academic accomplishments, honoring their hard work, commitment, and dedication to success.
Academic Excellence Award: Students who earned all A’s during the first three marking periods of the current school year.
Academic Achievement Award: Students who earned a combination of A’s and B’s during the first three marking periods of the current school year.
Pride of the Pack (8th only): A prestigious award for 8th graders demonstrating sustained academic excellence, requiring final A grades in all 6th and 7th grade classes, and all A’s (weighted for honors) in every 8th grade quarter; note that Quarter 4 is not included since the ceremony occurs before final grades are available.

Notes:  Virtual core classes (including required reading) do count for Evening of Excellence. HS classes count only if they are core academic (e.g., Algebra II counts; electives like Italian do not). Additional electives taken outside Avalon (e.g., FLVS electives) do not count. All quarter grades must be available; missing grades (e.g., no Q1) make a student ineligible.
