Cyberbullying is generally defined as any unwanted, repeated, and harmful acts that take place using technology. This may involve bullying via text messages, social networking, chatrooms, and any other computer related mode of communication. Forms of cyberbullying may include gossip, rumor spreading, threats, mean or hateful comments, unwanted posting or texting of pictures or videos, and fake social networking profiles.

Cyberbullying has the potential to be more dangerous than traditional forms of bullying for a number of reasons. Cyberbullying can take place in front of a virtually unlimited audience, and can be harder to escape since the social world of technology is available 24 hours a day. Also, it can often be difficult to track the offender, as messages and images are often posted anonymously.
